UMI EUROPE and Go Forest Join Forces for Reforestation in the Benelux

EINDHOVEN / GOUVY – UMI EUROPE is proud to announce its support for two unique nature projects in the Netherlands and Belgium, in collaboration with the organization GO FOREST. For the 2024-2025 season, the organization is focusing on the restoration and preservation of biodiversity at historical and ecologically vulnerable locations in Nuenen (Eindhoven region) and Baclain (Belgium).

Historical Preservation at Landgoed Soeterbeek

In the Netherlands, UMI EUROPE supports the preservation of the monumental Soeterbeek Estate in the municipality of Nuenen. This estate, which has been family-owned for generations, has a rich history dating back to its establishment by the Ursuline sisters.

By planting 10 carefully selected trees, UMI EUROPE contributes to the preservation of this heritage. The project is essential for securing the unique park structure of this protected monument for the future and strengthening local biodiversity in the Eindhoven region.

Ecological Restoration in the Parc Naturel des Deux Ourthes

Across the border in the Belgian Ardennes, UMI EUROPE is committed to the Baclain project in the municipality of Gouvy. This project is located in the heart of the Parc Naturel des Deux Ourthes, near the Wez de Halleux stream.

The focus here is on the transformation of a 2.5-hectare fallow site, previously used for commercial softwood plantations. The planting of 10 trees marks the first step toward a more resilient, mixed forest landscape. The proximity to the watercourse and the surrounding diverse woodlands makes this location crucial for local flora and fauna.
